Quick answer
San Diego Plumber Pros is an independent homeowner guide operated by SWKM GmbH in Munich, Germany (HRB 206143). It is not a licensed contractor and does not perform plumbing work. It publishes sourced information on costs, permits and CSLB licensing, and answers emailed requests with next steps. It earns nothing today and may in future receive referral fees from contractors.

Who runs this website?
San Diego Plumber Pros is operated by SWKM GmbH, Kathi-Kobus-Straße 21, 80797 München, Germany, registered in the commercial register of the Munich local court under HRB 206143. The managing director is Sebastian Kaiser. Full company details are in our legal notice, and how we handle information you send us is described in our privacy policy.
We do not have an office, workshop or staff in California. We have no phone line, no vehicles and no technicians.
Not a licensed contractor
San Diego Plumber Pros is not a plumber, not a plumbing business and not a contractor of any kind. We hold no license from the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB), and we do not perform, supervise, schedule, price or guarantee any plumbing, gas or sewer work. Nothing on this site is an offer to do that work.
That distinction matters in California. Plumbing contractors are licensed by the CSLB under the C-36 Plumbing Contractor classification, which covers water supply, waste piping, gas piping and appliances, water heaters and devices such as backflow preventers. Since January 1, 2025, AB 2622 allows unlicensed work only when the whole project is under $1,000, needs no permit and involves no hired workers. Any work on your home that goes beyond that should be done by a contractor whose license you have checked in the CSLB license lookup.
How does this site make money?
Right now it does not. Reading the site and sending a request are free for homeowners, and we receive no money from contractors today. In the future we may receive a referral fee from a licensed contractor when we introduce a homeowner who then hires them. If that starts, we will say so on this page, and a fee will never decide what we write about costs, licensing or warning signs. We do not take payments for plumbing work.
What we do and do not do
- We explain costs using published ranges from guides such as HomeGuide, HomeAdvisor and Angi, labeled with source and year.
- We explain rules from the CSLB, the City of San Diego, SDG&E and other official sources, with links.
- We answer referral requests by email with next steps and, where we know a licensed contractor for the job and area, an introduction.
- We do not send anyone to your home, respond to emergencies, quote or negotiate prices, or publish reviews. Our reviews page explains why.
- We do not guarantee any contractor's work. If we introduce you to one, your contract is with that contractor.
We currently have no partner contractors and have not yet introduced any homeowner to a contractor. Until that changes, most replies will be guidance rather than an introduction.
How we research
- Primary sources first. For licensing, permits, utility rules and safety we use official sources: the CSLB, the City of San Diego Public Utilities and Development Services departments, SDG&E, the San Diego County Water Authority, the California Health and Safety Code, the CPSC and the FTC.
- Cost guides are labeled. Cost figures come from published consumer cost guides and are shown as that guide's estimate, with its year. They are national ranges unless stated otherwise, and they are not our prices.
- Every number is linked. Each page lists the sources we opened and used. If we cannot verify a figure, we leave it out.
- No invented content. We do not publish made-up reviews, case studies, statistics or staff profiles.
- Dated reviews. Pages were last reviewed in October 2026. Permit rules, utility programs and cost guides change, so check the linked source before relying on a figure.
- Corrections. If you find an error, email dispatch@sandiegoplumberpros.com with the page and the correct source, and we will review it.
How should you verify any contractor?
- Look up the license number in the CSLB license check and confirm the status is active and the classification fits the job.
- Ask to see the pocket license and a photo ID. CSLB says to confirm the person matches the license, and that salespeople must be registered as Home Improvement Salespersons.
- Ask for proof of workers' compensation if the contractor has employees. CSLB warns that without it you could be liable for an injured worker's costs.
- Get a written contract for anything over $500 and keep the down payment within $1,000 or 10 percent, whichever is less, as CSLB explains.
Licensed contractors serving San Diego County can email dispatch@sandiegoplumberpros.com with their company name, CSLB license number and classification, proof of workers' compensation where required, services and areas served. We check every license in the CSLB lookup before any introduction. Being listed is never a ranking or an endorsement of every job. Our guide on how to choose a plumber in San Diego has more questions to ask.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a company in Germany running a San Diego plumbing website?
SWKM GmbH, based in Munich, runs independent homeowner information sites. Research and writing do not require a local office, but plumbing work does require a California license. That is why this site does not do any work and instead points you to the CSLB license check and to licensed local contractors.
Does San Diego Plumber Pros charge homeowners anything?
No. Reading the site and sending a referral request by email are free for homeowners. Any estimate, contract or payment for plumbing work is directly between you and the contractor you choose. In the future the site may receive referral fees from contractors, which this page will disclose if it happens.
How often is the information on this site updated?
Pages were last reviewed in October 2026. Permit procedures, utility programs and cost guide figures change over time, so every figure links to its source. Before acting on a permit rule or a price range, open the linked official page or guide to confirm the current version.
